Italy star Giugliano joins Roma Women

The club are delighted to confirm that Italy international Manuela Giugliano has decided to join Roma Women for the forthcoming season.

Giugliano, 21, joins the club from AC Milan - after starring at this summer's Women's World Cup in France with the Azzurre.

"We will see each other very soon at Stadio Tre Fontane, because from next season I will have the great honour of wearing the Roma colours," Giugliano said.

"I am sure you will show your support for us, we’re hoping to see a lot of you next season. Forza Roma!"

Giugliano was almost ever-present for Italy during the World Cup, as Milena Bertolini's side defied expectations to reach the quarter-finals of the competition.

Last season she helped Milan finish third in Serie A, narrowly missing out on Champions League qualification.

She previously represented the club in its former guise, Brescia, and has also played for Verona and Atalanta Mozzanica.

Giugliano becomes the sixth full Italy international to join Betty Bavagnoli's side - alongside club captain Elisa Bartoli, Agnese Bonfantini, Federica Di Criscio, Rosalia Pipitone and Annamaria Serturini.

Roma Women finished fourth in Serie A last season, the club's first-ever campaign in football.

Welcome to the capital, Manuela!
