In Numbers: Figures worth knowing ahead of Parma ending

Sunday evening sees the 2018-19 season come to an end, as Roma host Parma at the Stadio Olimpico.

Ahead of the contest - which gets underway at 20:30 local time - we have rounded up a few facts and figures worth knowing about the two sides...

    The Serie A standings

Sunday's game at the Olimpico will be the 50th game between these two sides in the top flight of Italian football. So far Roma have won 30 meetings to Parma's nine, with 10 draws. The Giallorossi have scored 87 goals in that span, conceding 41. Parma have lost to Roma more than any other side in Serie A...

    Recent meetings

Roma have won 15 of their last 19 meetings with Parma - losing three of the other four matches. But the last of those defeats came back in October 2012.

    Streaks both good and bad

Roma's best-ever run against Parma saw them go unbeaten in 14 meetings between 2005 and 2012 (drawing three of those). Meanwhile, the worst run came between 1985 and 1991 - during that span the Giallorossi failed to win any of the five meetings between the two sides.

    Some historic days against Parma

Most Roma fans will remember well how the Giallorossi clinched the Scudetto in 2001 thanks to a 3-1 home victory over Parma on the final day (June 17). Francesco Totti, Vincenzo Montella and Gabriel Batistuta all got on the scoresheet that day.

Totti, meanwhile, celebrated another milestone against Parma back in 2004 - his brace in a 5-1 win seeing him overtake Roberto Pruzzo as the club's all-time leading goalscorer in Serie A. Nine years later, against the same opponent, Totti overtook Gunnar Nordahl to become the second leading goalscorer in Serie A history.

    Ranieri against Parma

Claudio Ranieri has faced Parma 23 times as a coach during his formidable career. Only Inter (30 games) and Lazio (25) has he faced on more occasions. To date Ranieri has won eight games against Parma, drawing nine and losing six. His last win over Parma as Roma coach came in 2010 - on that occasion Antonio Mirante was in goal for the opposition.

    DDR

If he plays against Parma, De Rossi will bring his Roma career to an end after a total of 616 appearances - 459 of them in Serie A. Should he play, De Rossi will pass Alessandro Costacurta for Serie A appearances, moving himself to 27th position on the all-time list, alongside Jose Altafini.

    De Rossi vs Parma

Daniele De Rossi has faced Parma 18 times in Serie A during his career - but has never scored against them. He has, however, provided five assists (more than against any other side).

    De Rossi's first Parma meeting

De Rossi played Parma for the first time back in October 2003 - with De Rossi creating both goals in a 2-0 win.

    Totti 20!

Francesco Totti, meanwhile, ended his career with 20 goals against Parma - his favourite victim of them all.

    Final weekend figures

Roma have won on the final day in each of the last three seasons. Parma, meanwhile, haven't lost on the final day in Serie A since 2008 - when their loss to Inter ensured the Nerazzurri, and not the Giallorossi, would lift the Scudetto.
