Key statistics from Bryan Cristante's 2017-18 campaign

Cristante scored nine goals last season in Serie A – making him the highest-scoring Italian central midfielder in the division.


Cristante was involved in 11 goals in total during the campaign (scoring nine and adding two assists), four more than he had managed in his entire professional career up to that point (seven: four goals and three assists).


Cristante started 44 games in total last season, across Serie A, the Europa League and Coppa Italia. He played in 47 games in total.


Cristante played in 36 league games out of a possible 38 – more than any other Atalanta player.


In total Cristante played 2835 minutes in Serie A last season. Among Roma players only Alisson, Aleksandar Kolarov, Federico Fazio and Edin Dzeko played more. No Giallorossi central midfielder played as many minutes as Cristante (Radja Nainggolan played 2620 minutes).


Last season Cristante scored a hat-trick in the Europa League against Everton – his only goals of the competition. He added an assist in the last-32 defeat to Borussia Dortmund.


Last season Cristante scored a total of four goals (out of 12) with his head – three in the league and one in the Europa League.


Cristante’s two league assists last season came against Benevento and Genoa.


The 23-year-old finished the season having made 200 interceptions – an average of just over 5.5 a game.


The AC Milan academy graduate has a total of five senior appearances for Italy under his belt – all of them having come over the past season. His debut came against Macedonia in October, the most recent against the Netherlands on June 4.
