Top Five: Cristante outruns the competition against Plzen

No player covered more ground than midfielder Bryan Cristante on Tuesday, as Roma romped to a 5-0 win over Viktoria Plzen.

Playing alongside Steven Nzonzi at the base of the Giallorossi midfield, Cristante's stamina and energy was a key component of a comprehensive victory - as he covered 11.86 kilometres over the 90 minutes, comfortably more than any other player.

That was despite Roma also dominating possession, with the team on the ball usually being required to run less than the opponent.

Indeed, three Roma players made up the top five for most distance covered at the Olimpico - with Nzonzi (11.03km) and Alessandro Florenzi (10.27km) also putting in all-action displays.

“The main thing is find the right relationships among teammates, and with every game we are developing that,” Cristante said afterwards.

“Clearly, we’ve needed a few games to find the right positioning between us and to play with the right rhythm. Now we have to continue on this path.”

Cristante also won more duels than any other player during the game.
