Internationals: 12 players called up this week

A total of 12 Roma players have called up for the forthcoming international matches, as the Nations League continues around Europe.

Alessandro Florenzi and Lorenzo Pellegrini have both been called up for Roberto Mancini’s latest Italy squad, as they face Ukraine in a friendly before travelling to Poland in the Nations League.

Aleksandar Kolarov (Serbia), Cengiz Under (Turkey), Edin Dzeko (Bosnia & Herzegovina) and Kostas Manolas (Greece) could all also be in Nations League action over the coming two weeks – with Cengiz and Dzeko perhaps in line to face one another when Turkey host Bosnia in a friendly on Thursday.

Midfielder Steven Nzonzi, fresh from scoring his first goal for the Giallorossi, has been called up to the France squad for games against Iceland and Germany – while Robin Olsen (Sweden) and Patrik Schick (Czech Republic) can also expect to add to their haul of international caps.

Some younger members of Eusebio Di Francesco’s squad could be in Under-21 action; with Luca Pellegrini and Nicolo Zaniolo both getting their first call-ups for the Italy Under-21 side. Justin Kluivert could also make appearances for the Netherland’s U-21 side.
