Dzeko pleased with first Champions League hat-trick

Edin Dzeko was happy to acknowledge his habit of scoring goals against Viktoria Plzen - as he scored a hat-trick to propel Roma to a 5-0 win on Tuesday night.

Dzeko's first Champions League hat-trick was his second for Roma against the Czech champions - as he also scored three in the same fixture in the Europa League group stages two seasons ago.

“I played in the Czech Republic against them, even with Teplice I scored a few goals," Dzeko said. "Today is my first Champions League hat-trick and I have to be happy with that.”

Dzeko was asked about the recent improvement in the team's displays.

“The ritiro did us good, we pulled together as a group and we knew we couldn’t let things go on," he said.

"We are not close to our full potential yet but we have won the last three games and the confidence that will give us going forward will help us a lot.

“Real Madrid lost? In the Champions League every game is tough, today we took the three points and we still have four games to play. The next two against CSKA Moscow will be very important.”
