Goalkeeper Alisson Becker was delighted to cap off his first league appearance in the derby with a victory, as Roma beat Lazio 2-1 on Saturday.
"It’s a great period we’re going through at the moment," Alisson said. "We’re full of energy and feeling happy. This team is working every day out on the pitch, so as to be ready to win.
"Tonight it was a great performance – one of our best, against a very strong team. We picked up three very important points in the context of the league.”
He added: "Our fans put on a great show. It’s always a pleasure to play the derby. Playing my first one in Serie A, with the show the fans put on, makes it even better.”
What’s the secret behind your defence?
“It’s everybody’s attitude. Everyone is on the move and does what the boss asks of them. I know the whole team worked really hard during the international break towards this match, key to moving up the league table. Added to that, it was a derby match and all that goes with it. Winning was wonderful.”
As you celebrate a derby win like that, do you talk about the Scudetto?
“I’ve been saying it since the start of the campaign, as far back as when we started working in the training camp. All of the team has this thought in their mind. It’s tough – there are five teams that could win it. We’ll fight right until the end. Winning the Scudetto is a clear objective of ours.”
