After over 210,000 votes were cast in nine categories, the time has finally come to reveal the winners of the AS Roma awards for the 2015-16 season.
Over the past month we asked Giallorossi fans across the globe to decide the winners of some key awards for the season just completed - and you responded in your thousands to make sure the right players, performances and matches were recognised.
The first award to be revealed is for the 'Moment of the Season' - the goal, incident or turning point that was perhaps most memorable or impactful in a season that certainly had its share of them.
Here is a reminder of the shortlist:
- Luciano Spalletti’s return as manager
- Alessandro Florenzi's goal against Barcelona
- Miralem Pjanic's penalty against Bayer Leverkusen
- Francesco Totti's double against Torino
- Radja Nainggolan's winner against Napoli
- Stephan El Shaarawy's winner against Genoa
And, without any further ado, here is how the voting unfolded:
4th: Stephan El Shaarawy's late, late winner at Genoa
The Italy international delivered the final note on a remarkable comeback victory in the closing weeks of the season, as he rounded off a fine team move to clinch an unlikely three points and keep Roma's Champions League ambitions burning.
3rd: Luciano Spalletti returns to Roma
A mid-season management change saw Luciano Spalletti return to the Stadio Olimpico, a decision that was warmly welcomed by fans - and, perhaps most importantly, reaped almost immediate dividends.
Spalletti guided the side on a 17-match unbeaten run to end the campaign, as Roma eventually finished strongly in third in Serie A.
2nd: Alessandro Florenzi's golazo against Barcelona
A glorious moment for the Rome-born player, a breathtaking strike that was rightfully shortlisted for FIFA's Puskas Award for goal of 2015.
The full-back had the presence of mind to spot Marc-Andre Ter-Stegen off his line and then unleashed a bullet from 45 yards - a remarkable goal against one of the greatest sides in the history of football.
Moment of the season 2015-16: Francesco Totti's brace against Torino
A clear and overwhelming winner - and who can really say they are surprised? Another remarkable moment to add to a career of them for Il Capitano, as he scored twice in the final four minutes to turn a 2-1 loss to Torino into a scarcely believable 3-2 win.
Congratulations Francesco - and for the rest of you, relive his heroics in the video below!
Stay tuned to asroma.com, as the other awards will be revealed throughout the week.
