Mohamed Salah to wear number 11 at Roma

Salah

The striker took to Twitter on Wednesday night and changed his profile icon to an image depicting the number 11.

He then tweeted the word ‘Done’ – a message that immediately went viral on the social media platform as thousands of fans retweeted it.

The 23-year-old is the third new arrival at Trigoria this summer following the capture of Iago Falque from Genoa and the loan signing of Wojciech Szczesny from Arsenal.

Salah previously wore the No.22 shirt at FC Basel and then No.15 and No.17 during his time at Stamford Bridge. After joining Fiorentina on loan, the forward asked to wear the No.74 shirt in tribute to the victims of the Port Said disaster.

As Roma’s new No.11, Salah will follow in the footsteps of Luciano Alghisi, the first player to wear the shirt in 1939, and Scudetto winners Miguel Angel Pantò and Emerson.
