    Verena Hanshaw joins the Giallorosse!

AS Roma are delighted to announce that Verena Hanshaw will join the Giallorosse. The Austria international has signed a contract until 30 June 2026.

Verena has spent the last six seasons at Eintracht Frankfurt, where she also played in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, featuring in every game for the German side.

“AS Roma have developed into a top European team and I really like their way of playing football. I was impressed that the club has shown me immense appreciation over a long period of time and has shown me a clear plan for the future in all discussions,” explained Hanshaw.

“After six years at Eintracht Frankfurt, this summer is the right time for a personal change. Both Roma and I have big goals and want to win titles, which is why I’m already looking forward to the challenge in Italy and also playing in front of their great fans!”

An experienced and determined player, Hanshaw is a leading example in the Austria national team and has racked up 100 appearances for her home country.

“Verena is a player we’ve been following for some time.  A left-footed full-back is something we were missing in our squad. We’re happy we’ve managed to bring her to Roma, not just for her footballing skills, but also for who she is as a person,” said Betty Bavagnoli, Head of Women’s Football.

“We’ll give her a warm welcome and we’re certain she’ll play a big part in achieving our goals in the future.”

    Welcome to Roma, Verena!
