In 2013, Kostas Manolas became the sixth Greek player to pull on a Giallorossi jersey - following in the footsteps of Choutos, Dellas, Tachtsidis, Torosidis and Eleftheropoulos. A centre-back with a sturdy build, Manolas is rated by many as one of the best defenders in Europe. He was Greece's outstanding performer at Brazil 2014. Fernando Santos' side was built on its defensive solidity and Manolas – together with another Giallorossi defender, Torosidis – was at the heart of it.
He joined Roma from Olympiacos, a team where he gained a wealth of international experience in the Champions League: 13 games over two years, including two goals in the 2013-14 season. His winner's medals include two Greek league titles with Olympiacos and two Greek Cups - one with Olympiacos and the other with his former club AEK Athens.Show More Show Less
