Roma are pleased to announce that Primavera coach Alberto De Rossi has signed a new contract to continue his adventure with the Under-19 side.

De Rossi has spent the past 24 seasons working within the club’s youth academy, leading the Primavera side - the oldest age group - for the last 15 of those.

The 60-year-old has signed a two-year contract extension with the Giallorossi.

“It’s the greatest reward, a huge satisfaction,” De Rossi said.

“Trigoria is like a second home to me now and working in an environment that is at the cutting edge in so many ways, and has such strong belief in the importance of the youth setup, is a source of great pride.”

In his time with the Primavera De Rossi has guided the side to three national championships, two Coppa Italia victories and two Supercoppa triumphs.

Last month he surpassed 600 games in charge of the Under-19 side.

“The renewal of Alberto De Rossi’s contract underlines and strengthens the huge confidence and trust we have in a great person and a fantastic professional,” Monchi said.

“We are certain that, as we continue to work together, Roma will get stronger and stronger.”

De Rossi - father of current club captain Daniele – has previously overseen the graduation to the first team of the likes of full Italy internationals Alessandro Florenzi, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Alessio Romagnoli, Alessio Cerci and Andrea Bertolacci.

This season has already seen Primavera member Mirko Antonucci make his first-team debut for the club, while a number of other youngsters from De Rossi's side have named in matchday squads for the first time by first-team boss Eusebio Di Francesco.
