The club is pleased to confirm the arrival of defender Jonathan Silva on an initial loan deal.
The left-back joins from Portuguese side Sporting Club on a temporary basis until 30 June 2018. As part of the agreement, the Giallorossi have the option to make the transfer permanent.
"I am very happy to have joined Roma, for me it's an incredible feeling," Silva said, who will wear the No. 33 shirt.
"I am very motivated: I want to make my contribution among this great group of players."
The 23-year-old, a full Argentina international, began his career at hometown club Estudiantes de la Plata – before joining Sporting in the summer of 2014.
In total he made 43 appearances for the Portuguese side, after spending the 2016-17 campaign on loan at Boca Juniors.
"I am pleased to confirm the arrival of Jonathan Silva,” the club's sporting director, Monchi, said.
"He is a young player that has already demonstrated his personality and technical ability, attributes that have enabled him to play for a top club like Sporting."
Silva made his international debut for Argentina in 2014.
This season he made 10 appearances in all competitions for Sporting.
