Revealed: The longest-serving one-club men in football

With Francesco Totti having played the final match of his illustrious career for Roma on May 28th, UEFA.com ranked the remaining footballers who have played their entire careers for one team in Europe's top leagues. Check out the eight longest-serving one-club men in the countdown below...

8. Yaroslav Rakitskiy: 8 seasons with Shakhtar Donetsk

Rakitskiy has donned the orange and black in 275 competitive matches for Shakhtar and he’s still only 27 years old. The powerful left-footed defender has helped lead his club to six league titles and five Ukraine Cups.

7. Thomas Müller: 9 seasons with Bayern Munich

Having appeared in 394 games for Bayern, Müller is currently second all-time in assists and fourth all-time in goals for the club. The forward entered Bayern’s academy as a 10-year-old and debuted for the senior side in 2008.

6. Andy King: 10 seasons with Leicester City

The Welsh international has played in three different leagues for the Foxes and has appeared in 363 total matches. King played a key role in Leicester’s magical Premier League title run in 2016.

5. Rui Patrício: 11 seasons with Sporting CP

Sporting’s goalkeeper helped lead Portugal to the UEFA EURO 2016 crown. Patrício has appeared in 412 matches for his club, including a Sporting record 79 European games.

4. Loïc Perrin: 14 seasons with St-Étienne

Perrin joined St-Étienne’s youth academy as an 11-year-old in 1997 and made his senior debut in 2003. He has now captained Les Verts from central defence for 10 years, making 353 appearances.

3. Igor Akinfeev – 14 seasons with CSKA Moscow

Moscow’s captain and longtime shot-stopper has racked up 522 appearances and shows no signs of slowing. Still only 31 years old, Akinfeev debuted for his boyhood club at just 17 years of age.

2. Andrés Iniesta – 15 seasons with Barcelona

Barca’s wizard in midfield for the last decade and a half, Iniesta ranks third all-time in assists (134) and second in appearances (624) for the Catalan club.

1. Daniele De Rossi – 16 seasons with Roma

De Rossi sits second to Totti in Roma’s history with 557 appearances and 51 assists. A workhorse at the core of Roma’s midfield, De Rossi made his professional debut for the Giallorossi at just 18 years old.
