Film star Will Smith reveals he is a Roma fan

Renowned American actor Will Smith has revealed that he is an AS Roma supporter.

Smith – who is currently in Italy to promote his latest film, 'Suicide Squad' – spoke at a press event about his soft spot for the Giallorossi, although he seemed somewhat keen to keep the secret under wraps.

“Forza Roma!" Smith said, prompting a few additional questions.

"Am I a Roma fan? Absolutely! That was a secret – you just let my secret out! We’re going to make an announcement… It’s a secret, a secret! I don’t know yet, we’re not talking about it just yet, but yes!”

One of his co-stars in the film, Jai Courtney, also became involved in the discussion, adding: "I love Roma!"

The revelation by Smith, whose 20-year movie career has seen him star in films including 'Independence Day', 'Men in Black' and 'I Am Legend', is perhaps further proof of Roma’s enduring appeal beyond the walls of the Eternal City.

The Giallorossi got a first-hand taste of this during their recent tour of North America, when Luciano Spalletti’s men where met with rapturous welcomes wherever they went, from Boston to Montreal via St. Louis.
