Strootman wins appeal against suspension

Stroot

Kevin Strootman will be available to face AC Milan and Juventus after the club's appeal against his suspension was successfully upheld.

Strootman was initially banned for two games for his part in an incident during last weekend's derby against Lazio, which saw Biancocelesti substitute Danilo Cataldi shown a red card for grabbing the Dutchman as he celebrated scoring Roma's opener in a 2-0 win.

Strootman had been accused of simulation for his reaction after Cataldi grabbed at the back of his shirt but, after the use of supporting evidence, including video footage, the appeals committee agreed with Roma's appeal.
