Strootman: I want to win something at Roma

Success with Roma – that is what Kevin Strootman wants and the midfielder has reiterated his desire to lift a trophy with the Giallorossi while revealing that he'll soon return to training with the first team

“I hope to be back out there playing alongside my team-mates as soon as possible,” the Dutchman said. “My aim is to win something at this club and give the fans something to cheer about – they deserve it.”

The 25-year-old, who has undergone three operations on his left knee, is recovering from the injury he suffered in March 2014 and has recently been training with Alberto De Rossi's Primavera side.

“I feel much better now. I'll play a game with the Primavera soon and in mid-February I'll start training with the first team again."

Strootman, who joined Roma in the 2013-14 season, has so far made 36 appearances and scored six goals for the club.
