Nainggolan: Celebrations show we're united

Radja Nainggolan believes this afternoon's 2-0 victory over Genoa at the Stadio Olimpico was proof of a close-knit group that had one objective in mind – getting back to winning ways

"We showed guts today," claimed the Giallorossi midfielder. "We all wanted the same thing and you could see from our celebrations that there's a lot of togetherness in the squad."

After Alessandro Florenzi fired in the opener, every player ran immediately over to Rudi Garcia. Now Nainggolan wants to see the team build on today's performance after the Christmas break.

"I hope the boss is pleased," continued the Belgian international after the match. "We began the season in great form, but recently things haven't been going so well.

"Let's all reflect on this win during the break. When things get started up again, we need to all move forward together – the fans as well. We're at a delicate stage of the season and their support can really drive us on."

You could hear a few whistles after the goals...

"The fans demand a lot from us because this squad has been put together to win football matches. We've been through a tough patch but we've stuck at it. We want to continue what we've begun."

Have Roma bounced back?

"We wanted to get this victory definitely. We played good football against BATE Borisov, even if we didn't manage to score. That's been our main focus recently and we bagged two goals today. They put us under pressure when we went down to 10 men but our teamwork was excellent and that shows you that we've stuck together."
